UTG PRO Handguards for MP5 and MP5K: Product Update

Rolling Product Update

Big news to share with all our dealers! Our UTG PRO Monolithic Handguards for MP5 and MP5K are moving from cerakote to anodized. It's been overwhelming to see our engineering team's hard work pay off with this product. We made this decision after looking at our production line and hearing your feedback. We're making a great product even better and fulfilling your backorders with uncompromising quality. Handguards shipping out to dealers from headquarters in Livonia, Michigan after November 1, 2024 will include this update. This is SKUs MTU055SSM and MTU055SSMK. For any questions, we are always here to serve our customers. Your customer service reps will be in touch, and please feel free to drop us a line through our Customer Service team or Socials.

Lauding our UTG PRO Handguards for MP5 and MP5K

Our UTG PRO Monolithic M-LOK Handguard for MP5 launched on September 28, 2023 with the version for K model as a fast follow on March 29, 2024. We developed these handguards with innovation in mind: combining the shooter's optics rail and handguard into one slick piece, with a patented lockup that is both easy-to-install and secure. All the finer details were not overlooked, from chamfering to accomodate that HK slap to a cutout on top to allow for tracking of your serial number. (See our original launch post detailing our design philosophy.)

At the time we could never have predicted the swell of positive response and demand on our manufacturing line here at UTG PRO, our manufacturing plant in Livonia, Michigan. Week by week, we would report the incoming backorders and work with our engineers to increase production capacity.

It has been gratifying and rewarding to see our product used by shooters around the world. The inspiration has spread from the at-home enthusiast modernizing his MP5 to veterans and Law Enforcement excited to see a new approach to their builds.

If you haven't seen these already, we share some of these stories with pride:

How We Make It and Iterative Improvement

Steve, our awesome cinematographer in-house, made you guys a quick video showing how we make our handguards here in Michigan. He's a classy guy (just check that choice in music).

We're on a continuous path to listen to our customers, refine our product development, and take no compromises to ensure our UTG PRO products deliver for the most demanding shooter's situations. When we launched our first SKU, MP5s were blowing up across the market, with more clones made and a wide set of tolerances to accomodate with our handguard fit. We listened to feedback about the clearance for the charging handle cutout and held many discussions to land on a balanced answer: machine it out more across standard and K models while maintaining sturdy and reliable zero.

We're increasing our production capacity to meet demand. We've pushed our in-house cerakote operation to its limits and believe that an anodized process will not only keep a high standard for hardness and protection, but also allow us to deliver quality with quantity. Our Marketing and Product Development team is always available and open ears, so keep sharing your feedback so we can make every product better for you.
